September 29 was the closing reception for “Self-Evident”, my solo exhibit in the Baber Room Gallery at Central Michigan University. Below is a link to the presentation that I gave before the reception began...
We exChange /
Signal-Return Invited six writers and six artists to participate in a collaborative art project using Octavia Butler’s inspirational quote, “All that you touch, you change. All that you change changes you. The only lasting truth is change.” This year-long collaboration will be on exhibit at the Scarab Club August 31-October 1 with an opening reception on Friday, September 2.

NATURE /
I curated “NATURE”, the current group exhibit at the Cass Cafe- a longtime favorite art bar and restaurant located in Midtown Detroit. Twenty artists explore the theme of nature- from traditional to expressive approaches, and to its political, philosophical and spiritual implications.
Open Life Drawing /
I got to catch up with the Open Life Drawing group at the Russell Industrial Center, and spent time doing one of my absolute favorite activities… you guessed it- Figure Drawing!! These were all drawn on an iPad Pro using Procreate.
2021 and Done /
On December 30, I had a small get together at my studio where I invited everyone to take turns painting a few brushstrokes on a 72” x 60” canvas on the wall. Four hours later, a painting was born! A special thank you to Livv and Emilia Nawrocki for capturing these images and contributing to the painting!
Figure Cast /
For the first time since art school twenty years ago, I made a mold from my clay figure sculpture and cast it in another material. This piece, titled “COVID Defensive” is on display in the “INCOMPLETE” exhibition at the Scarab Club through November 17, 2021
